Gina Coleman Buxton, 66, was born Nov. 8, 1956, and passed away Tuesday, Nov. 29, 2022.
Gina enjoyed watching soap operas, Judge Judy, and her favorite team, the New Orleans Saints. She also enjoyed cooking for her kids and grandkids, and family get togethers was her favorite past time. Gina loved to put a smile on everyone’s faces. She won the hearts of her grandchildren through her perfect baking skills and always made their favorite treats.
She is survived by her companion, Mark Johnson; children, Tony Bradshaw and fiancé, Shawnda, and Jason Bradshaw and fiancé, Kay; grandchildren, Brooke Morris and husband, Bryan, Dagan Bradshaw and fiancé, Maria Sonnier, Harley Bradshaw, Lakyn Gibbs, Hunter Gibbs, and Thomas Mason; great grandchildren, Kenner and Haynie Bradshaw; brother, Ricky Coleman; stepfather, Otis Anderson; son-in-law, Preston Franklin; her aunt Joan and uncle Robert Van Winkle; nephews, Clint Coleman and Cody Coleman; and niece, Magan Pickering.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Donald Buxton; daughter, Stacey Franklin; parents, Herman and Joyce Coleman; sister, Mona Craft; and nephew, Dwayne “DJ” Craft, Jr.
The family received friends from 5-8 p.m., Thursday, Dec. 1, at Riley Smith & Sons Funeral Home. Funeral service was held at 10 a.m., Friday, Dec. 2, at Riley Smith & Sons Funeral Home in DeQuincy. Rev. Alvin Dale Smith officiated. Interment followed at Masonic Cemetery in DeQuincy.
