Flamond “Buddy” Jay Whittington, 62, of DeQuincy, passed away on Tuesday, Nov. 8, 2022 at DeQuincy Memorial Hospital. He was born to his late parents, Joseph and Marion Whittington on Oct. 19, 1960 in DeQuincy. He enjoyed riding around and visiting his friends. Buddy loved spending time with his wife, Diane Novak and his little dog, Little Bit. He truly enjoyed life and loved to laugh; he truly never met a stranger.
He is survived by his loving partner of 11 years, Diane Novak of DeQuincy; children, Bridget Cooley of DeQuincy, Joseph Whittington (Jody) of Rutland, Vermont, Summer Robertson of Longville; siblings, Desi Paine (David, Jr.) of Carlyss, Louisiana, Melissa Pierce (Kevin) of Lake Charles; grandchildren, Jordan, Kylie, Colby, Kace, Lexi, Kylon, Clay, Ashley, Alyssa, Ethan, Haydn, Landn, Kailyn, and Thomas.
Buddy was preceded in death by his grandson, Isaiah Joseph Whittington.
A Celebration of Buddy’s life was held at Hixson-Snider Funeral Home in DeQuincy on Monday, Nov. 14, at 4 p.m., with Hixson Celebrant Jody Barrilleaux officiating. Visitation was at the funeral home beginning at 3 p.m. until the time of the service.
Services were entrusted to Jordan and Amanda Mothershed of Hixson-Snider Funeral Home, 205 E. Harrison St., DeQuincy.
