Santea Richard

Santea “Faye” Richard, 67, of DeQuincy passed away on Friday, Oct. 14, 2022 at Lake Charles Memorial Hospital. Faye worked in Banking and Finance from where she retired and she enjoyed camping and traveling with her husband Gary and her dogs, Dolly Marie and Suzie, then loved taking cross country trips with her daughters and friend Elaine. Faye was an inspiration to many during her cancer battle. Even though she remained in the shadows while her children were growing up, she really came to life during her battle with cancer and with the help of her friend, crazy Aunt Patty. She was loved and adored by all and will be missed by many adopted family and friends, however she has finally been reunited with the “Love of her Life”. Finally “Together Forever”.

She is survived by two daughters, Anissa Faye Guidry (Allen) of Welsh, and Melissa Lynn Montoya (Victor) of DeQuincy; five grandchildren, Alexandra and Tiffany LeJeune, Katlynn and Jack Richard, and Kadyn Bostick; many step grand and great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her two best friends, Elaine Moerbe and Patty Grewenig, whom we all loved and adored for their help and care they gave her throughout her illness; her three granddogs, Chico, Dixie, and Sassy; along with many nieces, nephews, cousins, and adopted children, Allen and Nina Duhon.

Faye was preceded in death by her husband, Gary W. Richard of 44 years; parents, Ebaus “Joe” and Murvie Ardoin Molitor; sister, Selena Ann “Sis” Wareham; brother, Joseph James “Jimmy” Molitor; grandparents, Mack and Lena Ardoin and Joe and Martha Molitor.

A Celebration of Faye’s life was held at Hixson Funeral Home in Westlake on Monday, Oct. 17, at 2 p.m., with Deacon Fred Reed officiating. Visitation was at Hixson Funeral Home in Westlake on Monday, beginning at 10 a.m. until the time of the service. A Rosary was held at 12 p.m. Burial followed at Magnolia Cemetery in Westlake.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the foundation at Lake Charles Memorial Hospital.

Services entrusted to Jordan and Amanda Mothershed of Hixson-Snider Funeral Home.
