Dodd H. Smith, 62, was born Dec. 25, 1959 and passed away Saturday, Oct. 1, 2022. Dodd enjoyed hunting, fishing, playing cards and dominoes. He loved all kinds of animals and had a green thumb for gardening. He would help anyone and most of all he loved his family.
He is survived by his siblings, Tim Smith and wife, Sylvia of DeRidder, Pat Stanley and husband, Louie of DeQuincy, and Tina Fowler and husband, Richard of Singer; sister-in-law, Carrie Smith of Cypress, Texas; nieces and nephews, Melissa Henderson and husband, Steve of Haslet, Texas, Ramona Sosa and husband, Jorge of Sulphur, Aaron Stanley of DeQuincy, and Maria Arceneaux and husband, Chris of Lake Charles: great nephews, Tyler Henderson and Damian Sosa.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Linda Kay Crook Smith; parents, Nolan and Marie Smith; siblings, D. Wayne Smith and Sandy Head; niece and nephew, Lynell Marie Stanley and Reuben D. Fowler.
The family received friends from 4-6:30 p.m., Monday, Oct. 3 with the funeral service beginning at 6:30 p.m. at Riley Smith & Sons Funeral Home in DeQuincy. Officiating was Rev. Mark Shultz. The graveside service was held at 1 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 4. at Nursery Cemetery in Victoria, Texas.
Arrangements were handled by Riley Smith & Sons Funeral Home, 1810 W. 4th St., DeQuincy.
