DeQuincy falls to St. Mary’s

DeQuincy was hoping to get into the win column against St. Mary this past Friday night but St. Mary had other thoughts and their quarterback made sure it didn’t happen. St. Mary signal caller, Adam Parker ran for 5 touchdowns and threw for 1 as his St. Mary Tigers downed DeQuincy 42-14.

St. Mary jumped out quick and scored 3 first half touchdowns to take the 21-0 lead at intermission.

DeQuincys Eathan Guidry put the Tigers on the scoreboard with a fantastic 46 yard run to put the home standing Tigers on the score board. After the successful PAT by Kohen Cormier the score was 21-7.

However it was not to be for DeQuincy as Parker continued his hot hand as he scored 3 more touchdowns to extend the score to 42-7.

DeQuincy closed out the scoring for the night on a 28 yard run by Shiloh Cotlong. to make the final score 42-14.

Quarterback Reese Ashworth was 4 for 12 passing with 16 yards. He picked up a team leading 103 yards rushing.

Koby Poole and Mikah Kerlegan each caught 2 passes.

Eathan Guidry had 70 yards rushing and scored a touchdown.

Wyatt Lavergne had 26 and Koby Poole had 16 yards rushing for the Tigers.

Defensively the Tigers were led by Wyatt Lavergne’s 3 solo and 3 assisted tackles.

Kaleb Hooker had 3 solo tackles

Reese Ashworth and Jase Puryear each had 2 solo tackles.

Those with one tackle included Eathan Guidry, Koby Poole, D’Anate Thomas, M.J. Clark, Caden Keel, Kheidren LeDay, Grayson Henderson and Hunter Cox.

The Tigers continue to work hard and will be taking on the Rosepine Eagles in Rosepine this Friday night. Come out and support the Tigers as they try to claim that victory.
