DeQuincy went into the jamboree going against a much bigger school in LaGrange but that didn’t phase the Tigers as they came right out and scored on a drive that lasted 11 plays, all runs, as Senior Reese Ashworth scored on a 2-yard run to put the Tigers up 7-0 after the successful point after. After a LaGrange quick score DeQuincy again drove 51 yards scoring again on a 2-yard Touchdown run by Ashworth.
DeQuincy’s final score came after a 15 play 66 yard drive that Mikah Kerlegan toted the last 4 yards to close out the Tigers scoring for the night.
DeQuincy was led in rushing by senior Eathan Guidry who had 50 yards on just 7 carries, Reese Ashworth had 44 yards rushing and 33 yards passing on a pass to DaCorius Griffin. Mikah Kerlegan had 37 yards and Ronnie Courville had 38 yards rushing. Kohen Cormier was good on all 3 Tiger extra points.
Next up for the Tigers the regular season kickoff against the Westlake Rams at Tiger Stadium on Friday night at 7 p.m.
