Richard Bott

Richard Lee Bott was born July 7, 1946, and passed away on Tuesday, Aug. 2, 2022, at the age of 76. Richard served in the United States Army. He loved his family and his dogs; Andy, George, T-Bud, and Sasha. He also loved to do wood working.

He is survived by his wife of 26 years, Diane Landry; children, Karen Gibson and husband, Danny, Joseph Bott and wife, Lora, Ryan “Boogie” Bott and wife, Sarah, James Landry and wife, Katrina, Jane Landry, Alex Landry, Jr. and wife, Dwanna, and Justin Landry and wife, Katina; grandchildren, Danny “DJ”, Summer, Chase, Austin, Brenden, Alison, Erika, Bailey, Brooklyn, Rozlyn, Hayley, Leah, Yola, Logan, Skylyn, Hagen, Briana, Brent, Brennan, Alaina, Bryce, and Bralin; great-grandchildren, Bradley, Ethan, Molly, and Lolla; siblings, Paul Bott, Frances Bott and wife, Rosemary, Patricia Meaux and husband, Glenn, Delores Bott, Mary Rougeaux, and Ronnie Bott.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Loretta Bott; daughter, Katie Bott; grandson, Cody Osborne; brothers, Timmy Bott, Davy Bott, and Milton Bott; and sister-in-law, Evadell Bott.

The family received friends from 5-8 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 4, at Riley Smith & Sons Funeral Home in DeQuincy. The funeral service was held at 10 a.m., Friday, Aug. 5, at Riley Smith & Sons Funeral Home. Rev. Steve Avera officiated. Interment followed at Riley Smith Memorial Park.

Arrangements were handled by Riley Smith & Sons Funeral Home, 1810 W. Fourth St., DeQuincy.
