Roland Barrow

Roland Ray Barrow, 79, was born July 31, 1942 in Ragley and passed away Thursday, June 9, 2022 in DeQuincy. Roland was raised in Ragley, graduated from Ragley High School and was a member of Faith Baptist Church of Ragley. He had many jobs throughout his life including the forestry, trucking industry, and the oilfield industry. He was proud to have served as a member of the Beauregard Parish School Board. The greatest joys in life were his two grandchildren, Lindsey and Logan. He shared his love of horses and raising Catahoula Cur dogs with them at an early age.

He is survived by his daughter, Debbie Reeves and husband, Danny of Ragley; granddaughter, Lindsey Chapman and husband, Chad of Ragley; grandson, Logan Laviolette of Ragley; and three great-grandsons, Camden, Jase, and Reed; along with a large family including brothers, sisters, nieces, and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Barbara Clark Barrow; and his parents, James and Lettie Cooley Barrow.

The grave service was held at 2 p.m. Saturday, June 11, at Hagar Cemetery in Ragley.

“For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come, Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.” Romans 8: 38-39

Arrangements were handled by Riley Smith & Sons Funeral Home, 1810 W. Fourth St., DeQuincy.
