Betty Flowers

Betty Jo Flowers was born Mar. 14, 1929 in Elizabeth and passed away Saturday, Apr. 30, 2022 at her residence in DeQuincy.

Betty was a thirty year retiree from the Louisiana Department of Corrections retiring as the Assistant Warden at Phelps Correctional Institute, DeQuincy. She was a faithful member of First Baptist Church of DeQuincy. Betty’s favorite place to be was the DeQuincy Library. A special thank you to Lydia and Theresa for their years of friendship and love.

She is survived by her son, Charles T. Flowers of DeQuincy.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Presley B. Flowers, Jr.; and parents, Matherne Johnson and Missouri Doyle Johnson.

Graveside service will be held at 12 p.m., Thursday, May 5, at Pineville National Cemetery in Pineville with Rev. Gil Arthur officiating.

Charles would like to send a special thanks to Matt and his staff at Companion Care, especially to Laicy, Sydnie, and LuAnn for providing his mother with outstanding care over the last year and a half. Charles would also like to thank Sheila, Jake, Krystal, and all of the staff at Heart of Hospice for their excellent care.

Arrangements were handled by Riley Smith & Sons Funeral Home, 1810 W. Fourth St., DeQuincy.
