Susan Craig, daughter of Dorothy Smith and the late George Smith ran the 26.2 mile Boston Marathon on Monday, Apr. 18, in a time of 4 hours, 13 minutes and 13 seconds. “It was not my fastest marathon by a long shot, but it was my fastest Boston Marathon, so I am on cloud nine.” said Craig.
The Boston Marathon is the oldest and most prestigious marathon in the United States with participants having to meet qualifying standards based on age and gender at another marathon on a certified course. It is also known for the difficulty of the course based on it’s many hills and unpredictable weather.
“Monday was gorgeous, so I and many of my friends had a great day.”
