R. B. Dickerson, 86, of Merryville died on Wednesday, Mar. 9, 2022.
He was born in Silsbee, Texas Soon after, the family relocated to Merryville.
He worked in the oil field. He was consulted by major operations well into his 70s. His knowledge of both offshore and onshore drilling via the utilization of fishing tools to repair wells made him the man to call. He was a member of New Life Baptist Church.
He is survived by his wife, Delores Dickerson; daughter, Sarai Dickerson Rodgers, and husband, Kevin of Maumelle, Ark.; stepchildren Lisa Fowler Moore of Midlothian, Texas; Tim Fowler, and wife, Connie, of New River, Ariz.; sister, Gail Terrell, and husband, Ira Gene, of Merryville; and brother, Jim (Jimbo) H. Dickerson of DeRidder.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Ervaline Dickerson, parents, Bertie and Dee Dickerson; one brother; grandson, Christopher Scott Rodgers; and stepson Alan Fowler.
Funeral services were held Sunday, Mar. 13, at New Life Baptist Church in DeRidder. Bro. Keith Manual and Bro. Keeton Blakeney officiated. Burial followed at Merryville Cemetery in Merryville under the direction of Myers-Colonial Funeral Home in DeRidder.
