The ceremony started at 11 a.m. with Nick Ausman, Vice President of Southern Operations who welcomed everyone followed by Marty Rector, Mill Manager, who gave a brief history that followed up to the activities of the day. Rector stated that the announced closure of the mill was May 1, 2020; on July 9, 2021, Interfor finalized the sale of the mill. And today, Feb. 9, 2022 the first loads to market were celebrated.

Mayor Riley Smith and Chamber President Jerry Bell participated in the ribbon cutting. After that, numerous trucks started rolling with tons of new lumber. Interfor provided a meal to all those present.
