Karr elected VP of LAFF

Lillian C Karr was elected Vice President of Louisiana Association of Fairs and Festivals at their convention held in Baton Rouge on Feb. 3-6.

Karr has been involved with fairs and festivals since 1993 when she became a member of the Calcasieu Cameron Fair Board. A year later she was named the pageant director where she continued until 2019. She also became involved with the Starks Mayhaw Festival, where she served as pageant director and president of the Starks Business & Civic Association Board, sponsors of Starks Mayhaw Festival.

As this type of volunteering became her passion she decided to seek the office of LAFF District 2 Director. She was elected and has served this office for six years.

Now Karr has been elected Vice President of the LAFF organization. Her duties as VP will be to organize the 2023 LAFF Convention and also be responsible for the theme of the convention and decorations. She has chosen as her theme “Under The Big Top At LAFF.”

Karr graduated from Merryville High School, married her high school sweetheart, Jimmy Karr. She has three children, Dianne K. Armentor, Weldon Karr and Brenda Karr; five grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.

She currently serves as the Manager of the DeQuincy Chamber of Commerce.
