Mary Jane Fontenot Sonnier was born Apr. 25, 1937 in Mamou and passed away Monday, Jan. 31, 2022 at the age of 84.
She is survived by her son, David Allen Sonnier and wife, Liz; daughter, Melissa Frazier and husband, Hank; grandchildren, Randy Sonnier, Ricky Sonnier, Corey Fontenot, Chelsea Irwin and Brandy Modene; and nine great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Carlin Sonnier; daughter, Barbara Johnson; parents, Hammy and Jimmie Lee Fontenot; and her sister, Tracy Granger.
The family will receive friends 5-8 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 3, and the funeral service will be held 10 a.m. Friday, Feb. 4. The visitation and funeral will be held at Riley Smith & Sons Funeral Home in DeQuincy. Interment will follow in Westlake Memorial Gardens in Westlake.
