Janice Asalee Chance, 91, of Westlake died Tuesday, Jan. 25, 2022.
She was raised in Merryville and was a long time resident of Westlake where she was a member of Westlake First Baptist Church.
She is survived by her son, Mike Bennett of Sulphur; one granddaughter; three great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; step children, Barbara Phelps and Ronnie Chance; six step grandchildren; 15 step great-grandchildren; and two step great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Everette F. Hawthorne and Annie Mae Blackman Hawthorne; husband, Frazier Chance; one sister; and step son, Harlan Chance.
Funeral services were held at Hixson Funeral Home of Westlake on Friday, Jan. 28. Burial followed at Merryville Cemetery. Rev. Jim Fisher officiated.
