Blessing Box, ministry to help needy families in community

By Evalin Hester

Our Lady of LaSalette Catholic Church now has a Blessing Box, located in front of the church at 203 S. Grand Ave.
The Blessing Box was built by Anna Lueck then Tanya Eubanks painted and applied the signage. After that, Walter Eubanks built the legs and installed the box.

The church has had a food pantry since 1981. The food pantry used to be open on the 2nd and 4th Tuesday of every month. It was established by Sharon Mueller and Clarice Jones in 1981. A legacy for the needy became an annual Community Food Drive and Distribution.

This Blessing Box is for anyone in need: Take what you need, give what you can. It will be stocked with non-perishable items. If you have items too large for the box, you may drop them off at the church office. No clothing please.

On the east side of the box is the church symbol and on the back of the box is a plaque of dedication entitled “Feed my Sheep” by Father Bloom.
