The DeQuincy Chamber of Commerce has finalized plans for Christmas activities. The Christmas parade will be held Saturday, Dec. 4, beginning at 11 a.m. The lineup will begin at 10 a.m. on Third St. between McNeese and Oak Sts.
The theme of the parade is “A Salute to the U.S. Troops”.
There is no fee to enter the parade.
Also, the parade is open to bicycles. Kids get your thinking caps on and enter your bike, decorating it with the theme.
The parade marshal will be the 2021 Chamber of Commerce Civic Service Award recipients Pastor and Mrs. Carlton Jackson.
This year we will have a music program following the parade on stage at the Railroad Museum. There will be the high school band, dancers, singers and that Jolly Old Man – Santa Claus.
We ask that you be expecting Snow in the Forecast!
Then at 6:30 p.m., we will have fireworks at the ball park.
We are also joining this event with DeQuincy Farmer’s Market so there will be many food, craft and other booths available at the DeQuincy Railroad Museum after the parade. Registration has been closed! In just one week, the slots have been filled and registration has been closed with 80 vendors.
The Market will run from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. and include food trucks from surrounding areas.
