Ward Six Fire Protection District No. One responded to a total of 23 emergency calls during the month of August.
Those calls are as follows:
Structure Fires, 3; Gas Leaks, 2; Motor Vehicle Crashes, 3; False Alarms, 3; Smoke Removal (ventilation of structure), 1; Cancelled Enroute to Call, 6; Mutual Aid Assistance Given, 3; Medical Assist, 1; Woods/Grass Fire, 1.
As of Aug. 31, the department has responded to a total of 210 emergencies during 2021.

Deployed to SELA
Ward 6 Firefighters and personnel from Calcasieu Emergency Response Training Center deployed today from Ward 6 Station 2 with E17 – 3,000 gallon pumper tanker, E7 – 1800 gallon pumper tanker, Rescue 1 and the department RV in support of firefighting operations in Lafourche Parish.
The crew is tasked with providing firefighters to relieve firefighters in Lafourche Fire District 3 and supporting firefighting operations with water due to the water system not being operational.
The crews and trucks arrived at 8:30 p.m. and are staged at Lafourche Fire District 3 in Galliano.
