Jonathon Harms

Jonathon David Harms, 38, of Longville, died Thursday, Aug. 26, 2021.

He started his military career in 2000 in Minocqua, Wis., as a Crane Operator with a Combat Engineer Company with the Reserves. In 2002, he started his military career in Active Duty in Fort Polk. While stationed in Fort Polk, he was deployed twice, in 2003 and 2005, to Iraq. He had duty assignments in Germany and Fort Bragg, while he finished his military career back at Fort Polk in 2009. In 2004, while at Fort Polk, he took a Sapper Leader Course where he was awarded the Sapper Tab. In 2007 while stationed in Germany, he went to Fort Bragg and went through Air Borne School. In 2008, while stationed at Fort Bragg, he went through the Survival Escape Resist Evade Course (SERE School).

He is survived by his wife Tracy Lynn Harms of Longville; five children, Hannah, Sarah, Emma, Wyatt, and Justin; father Kenneth Harms and Donna of Eagle River, Wis.; mother Dorothy Olsen Harms of Sun City, Ariz.; two siblings, Jacy Elrod of Spring, Texas and Tony Harms of Queen Creek, Ariz.

A visitation will be Wednesday, Sept. 1, from 10 a.m. until time of service at Memorial Baptist Church in Longville. His funeral service will be Wednesday, Sept. 1, at 1:00 p.m. at Memorial Baptist. Interment will be at Memorial Cemetery under the direction of Heritage Funeral Home. Revs. Mark Norwood, Jimmy Clark, and Brad Johnson will officiate.
