Jim P. Burgess, a resident of Singer was born Nov. 18, 1967 and passed away Aug. 15, 2021 at the age of 53.
He is survived by his brothers, Rafil Burgess, Jr. and wife, Jerrie; Cecil Dyson and Hardy Dyson and wife, Melanie; sisters, Dorothy Vercher and Linda Cooper; grandson, Connor J. Bowring; along with numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Rafil Burgess and Letha Brister Burgess; and his sister, Lucy Scott.
The family will receive friends from 5-8 p.m. Friday, Aug. 20, at Riley Smith & Sons Funeral Home in DeQuincy. The funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 21, at Riley Smith & Sons Chapel. Rev. Jimmy Clark will be officiating. Interment will follow at Good Hope Cemetery in Singer.
