Reginald “Demo” Douglas Silas, Sr, 64, of DeRidder, died Wednesday, Aug. 4, 2021, at his residence.
He was born in Pineville.
He is survived by his wife, Margarete Silas; three sons, Reginald Silas, Jr. (Alanna) of Richmond, Texas, Veris Silas of DeRidder, and Dantoin Johnson of Shreveport; one daughter, Ariel Silas of DeRidder; two brothers, Michael Johnson of DeRidder, Anthony Silas of Baytown, Texas; four sisters, Anne Fisher of DeRidder, Amarilyn Daniels of Sherwood, Ark., Bertina Silas of DeRidder, and Tammie Silas of Sherwood, Ark.; and four grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Johnny Sr. and Juanita Silas; and one brother, Johnny Silas, Jr.
A Celebration Service will be held at Grace Church in DeRidder on Friday, Aug. 13, at 11 a.m., with Rev. George Lee Glass officiating. Visitation will be held on Friday at the church, beginning at 10 a.m. until the time of the service. Burial will follow at Beauregard Cemetery in DeRidder under the direction of Hixson-Snider Funeral Home.
