The Calcasieu Parish Voluntary Council on Aging has available positions for persons interested in serving on its Board of Directors. Three board positions are available to represent Iowa, DeQuincy and Vinton.
Board members are chosen based on individual and demonstrated leadership qualities, interest in the elderly and the potential to be a constructive contributor the goals and objectives of the agency. Qualifications may include knowledge of human issues in urban and rural areas of the parish. Knowledge and expertise in areas of business and financial management, a sincere love for the elderly and the willingness to volunteer time to promote the council’s are valuable assets for a board member. Persons need not be elderly to consider serving.
