James Eric Perkins, a native and resident of Singer, was born Mar. 7, 1940 and passed away Monday, June 21, 2021 at the age of 81 at his residence in Singer.
He is survived by his brothers, Donnis Perkins and wife, Joan of DeQuincy, Clyde Perkins and wife, Phyllis of Oretta; sisters, Peggy Hardy of DeRidder, Connie Chism and husband, Raymond of DeRidder, Christine Harrison and husband, Bill of DeRidder, Betty Hudson of Merryville and Dean Eddleman of Hinston; 11 nephews; and eight nieces.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Theodore Perkins and Nellie McLeod Perkins; brothers, Gordon Perkins, John Perkins and Rex Perkins; one nephew; one niece; and one great-nephew.
The family will receive friends from 5-8 p.m. Friday, June 25, and from 8:30-9:30 a.m. Saturday, June 26, at Riley Smith & Sons Funeral Home in DeQuincy. A graveside service will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, June 26, at Good Hope Cemetery in Singer.
Arrangements are being handled by Riley Smith & Sons Funeral Home, 1810 W. Fourth St., DeQuincy.
