David Johnson, a resident of Starks was born July 8, 1950 and passed away Sunday, Apr. 11, 2021 at the age of 70.
He was a graduate of Starks High School. He proudly served his country in the United States Airforce during the Vietnam era.
He is survived by his sisters, Veda Bussell and husband, J. L. of Starks and Vanita Gibbs and husband, Charles of Coushatta; his nieces and nephews, Keenan Todd Bussell, Robert Craig Bussell, Stephanie Gilbert, Shannon Dale Gibbs, Stephen Paul Gibbs, Jeremy Lloyd Gibbs, Joseph Ray Gibbs, Dana Ferguson, Cindy Johnson, Dawn Cox, Brendon Johnson and Cassandra VanZalinge.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph Ray Johnson and Victorine Perkins Johnson; brothers, Jimmie Dale Johnson and Gary Wayne Johnson; and nephew, Bryan Johnson.
The family will receive friends from 12-2 p.m. Wednesday, April 14, 2021 and the funeral service will begin at 2:00 p.m. The visitation and funeral will be held at First Baptist Church, 128 Hwy 109, Starks, Louisiana. Rev. Charles Gibbs will officiate. Interment to follow at VFW Cemetery, Starks, Louisiana.
