The DeQuincy Town Hall Museum was the recipient of a $1200 Tourism Marketing Initiative Grant, which is a cultural tourism partnership project funded by the Lake Charles/SWLA Convention and Visitors Bureau (CVB) and administered by the Arts Council. Marketing initiative grants are intended to enhance the promotion and marketing of our rich cultural programming in Calcasieu Parish.
The museum used the funds to create a new brochure featuring the displays and the planned Law Enforcement Museum, featuring the old 1920 jail cells. A presentation featuring the renovation was made last March to the city council, but plans have been thwarted by the COVID pandemic, Hurricanes Laura and Delta, and a record breaking cold front. The building received major roof damage during the storms.
