Linda Towry

Linda Kay Towry, 72, of DeQuincy passed away on Wednesday, Feb. 24, 2021 in Sulphur.

Kay Towry was born in Huntsville, Ala., to Wiley Howard Towry and Ara Celia Towry on Feb. 24, 1949. She worked as a beautician for 20 plus years and for Turner Industries until her retirement.

Kay Towry is survived by her son, Adam Pirtle and his wife Monica; brother, Phillip Towry; grandchildren, Ashton Pirtle and Trenton Pirtle; and hundreds of beautiful friends.

Kay Towry was preceded in death by her father, Wiley Howard Towry; mother, Ara Celia Towry; two sisters, Brenda Patterson and Peggy Sutherland; along with her daughter, April Pirtle.

A Celebration of Kay’s life was held at Hixson-Snider Funeral Home in DeQuincy on Saturday, Feb. 27, at 2 p.m., with Pastors Penny Blackburn and George Lee Glass officiating. Visitation began at 10 a.m. at the funeral home on Saturday, until the time of the service. A private committal will be at a later date at Brookside Memorial Park Cemetery in Houston, Texas.

The family of Kay Towry wishes to extend our sincere thanks to the doctors, nurses, and staff of West Calcasieu Cameron Hospital, along with Heart of Hospice.

Services were entrusted to Jordan and Amanda Mothershed of Hixson-Snider Funeral Home, 205 E. Harrison St., DeQuincy.
