Carla Jo Kowarsch McCormick, 56, of Lake Charles died Thursday, Dec. 31, 2020 in a Houston hospital.
She was born in Lake Charles where she was a 1982 graduate of LaGrange High School and enjoyed the years spent as a Gatorette. She also attended McNeese State University and graduated from Acadiana Tech with her bachelor’s degree in accounting. She lived almost 30 years in Dallas, Texas, before moving back to the Lake Charles area in 2018. She worked as a financial analyst for Conifer Health Solutions for over 20 years.
She is survived by her daughter, Camryn McCormick; fiancé, Jeff Gaspard of Iowa; step-daughter, Jojo Gaspard; father of her child, J. J. McCormick of Plano, Texas; brothers, Butch Kowarsch of Lake Charles, David Kowarsch of Starks and Dennis Kowarsch of Sulphur.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph and Lavina Kowarsch.
Her funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, Jan. 8, at St. Margaret Catholic Church under the direction of Johnson Funeral Home. Please note masks will be required for attendees. Father Keith Pellerin will officiate. Burial will follow in Consolata Cemetery. Visitation will be at the church on Friday from 10 a.m. until the start of the service.
