Geneva Cheryl MacDonald, 74, of Williston, S. C., died on Sunday, Dec. 6, 2020. She was born on Nov. 18, 1946 to the late Roy W. and Cora Francis Shoemake Hollander.
She obtained her cosmetology instructor license in Deridder where she taught prior to her move to Columbia, S. C. in the mid 1980s. There, she continued teaching cosmetology for a short time. Cheryl was a dedicated member of Elko Baptist Church, the Order of Eastern Star, Joyful Servants Sunday School Class and Senior Citizens of Elko.
She is survived by her son Donald Shirley (DW); two grandchildren; sister-in-law, Shirley Hollander of DeQuincy.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles A. MacDonald “Mac”; parents Roy W. and Cora Francis Shoemake Hollander; daughter, Frances Elizabeth Shirley; son, Charles William Shirley and brother, Roy Allen Hollander.
A graveside service will be held at 1 p.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 9, 2020 at Caughman-Harman Funeral Home, West Columbia Chapel in West Columbia, S.C. Pastor Tom Baker of Elko Baptist Church will be officiating.
