Hospital, clinic open

Dr. Jalel Joudeh, DeQuincy Memorial Chief of Staff, gave the DeQuincy News this update on medical services:

DeQuincy Memorial Hospital is fully staffed. The hospital has power, phones and internet. The reconstruction of the inpatient wing is completed and received the okay from the state to open and accept patients. The lab and x ray are both fully staffed, functinal and operational for outpatient and inpatient services. Behaviiorial Health Unit is also fully staffed and accepting patients. Outpatient physical therapy is under recostruction which will be completed soon.

Chadha Medical Clinic, Jacobs Medical Vlinic (now located in the professional building ) and DeQuincy Medical Clinic are all open. The power is back thankfully but other services like phone and internet may vary in each clinic. Please contact clinic in person if not able to reach by phone. All clinics staffed daily. You may need to knock on door to alert staff, but you will be answered for sure during business hours.

The Care Center of DeQuincy evacuated during Hurricane Delta but all patients returned Tuesday, Oct. 13.

Please be aware that Covid-19 is steady in Louisiana and our area. Please stay vigilant and practice social and physical distancing in public, wear masks in puplic places, avoid gathering in public as well as private and wash hands thoroughly.

Don’t forget the flu shot this year. Please ask your primary care physician if you are eligible for the flu shot and take it.
