Jerry Christerson

Jerry Dan Christerson, 79, of DeQuincy passed into the arms of his Savior on Friday, Aug. 7, 2020 at DeQuincy Memorial Hospital.

He was born to his late parents, Casey and Opal Christerson on Mar. 2, 1941 in Clayton, New Mexico. He was proud of his military service in the United States Navy. Jerry loved his family, traveling, working, race cars, restoring classic cars, and eating Mexican food.

He is survived by his loving wife of 53 years, Myrtle Christerson; one son, Richard Christerson and wife Erin; three daughters, Annette Muller and husband Kevin, Laura McWhorter and husband David, and Danielle Christerson; one brother, John Johnston; one sister, Betty Jo Tackle; twelve grandchildren, Christian, Mellissa, Lydia, Kayleigh, John, Jacob, Elyn, Scotti, Allie, William, Grace, Glory Kate; along with seven great-grandchildren, Trae, Clyde, Lane, Cruz, Taylor, Saydee, and Kasper.

Jerry was preceded in death by his parents; one son, John David Christerson; one brother, Kenneth Christerson; along with two sisters, Charlene Box and Dorothy Monk.

Services were held at Life Worship Center in DeQuincy at 2 p.m., on Monday, Aug. 10, with Bro. Alvin Dale Smith and Bro. Loy Tolbird officiating. Visitation began at Life Worship Center on Monday, beginning at 11 a.m. until the time of the service. Burial followed at Perkins Cemetery.

Services were entrusted to Jordan and Amanda Mothershed of Hixson-Snider Funeral Home, 205 E. Harrison St., DeQuincy.
