Chesson to run for Calcasieu D. A.

Christian D. Chesson has announced his candidacy for Calcasieu Parish District Attorney in the Nov. 3 election.

Chesson, 50, has practiced in Calcasieu Parish for more than 20 years, handling criminal defense, bankruptcy, lemon law, personal injury, and other cases. He ran for District Attorney in 2014 and earned 43 percent of the vote against an entrenched incumbent.

Chesson, a Democrat, is the father of four and grandfather of three. He is a graduate of McNeese State University and Southern University Law School.
