Apr. 19-25 marks National Library Week. Calcasieu Parish Library is celebrating with the theme “Find The Library At Our Place.”
Although all of the area library branches are closed due to COVID-19, they remind you that your Calcasieu Parish Library card can connect you to online resources for the whole family for free.
Even if you don’t have a library card, one can apply online by going to their website www.calcasieulibrary.org and apply online.
This card will be active for six months. You will be immediately able to access various library resources, including: ebooks, eAudiobooks, movies, music, magazines, comics, TV shows and more. Many of which connect via popular apps including Overdrive, Hoopla, Freading, AudioBook- Cloud, RomanceBookCloud and RBDigital (magazines).
There are also online learning resources, DIY helps and many just for kids resources.
Teen and young adults can access Homework Louisiana, Calcasieu Parish School Board site, activities for kids with special needs and more.
There are virtual museum tours, fitness workouts, NASA image collection, streaming of metropolitan Opera, USS KIDD Veterans Museum virtual tour and other great virtual tours. Don’t miss out. Visit online today!
Beauregard Parish
Beauregard Parish Library is closed during the Governor’s Stay-At-Home orders as a precaution against the spread of COVID-19.
No items are due and no cards will expire during this closure. WiFi remains available in the areas immediately surrounding their branches and digital services remain available on the website, https://library.beau.org.
They have added some helpful tutorials at Niche Academy which can be accessed through their web site, which includes links to educational, entertainment, business, social media, ebooks, audio books and magazines and much more.
