By Jeffra DeViney

DeQuincy Rotarian, Douglas DeViney, Sr., President nominee and Jeffra Wise DeViney, Membership Chair/District 6200 Newsletter Chair Elect, recently attended Rotary’s Ole Man River President Elect Training Seminar in Natchez, Miss.

The DeVineys trained with over 250 other Rotary Club President Elects and leaders from Mississippi, the Memphis area and Louisiana for two days at Natchez Grand Hotel and Convention Center on Mar. 6-7. There were 322 persons in attendance.

New club leaders are prepared not only to develop their own leadership skills but to grow future leaders within their own communities and clubs.

Rotary International is not only community based but a worldwide organization and has developed service projects of great scope.

Rotary Club of DeQuincy was rechartered last year in May, after an eight year hiatus. Rotary had formally been a club for 90 years in DeQuincy until it was disbanded.

Currently, there are 19 active members who meet on the 2nd and 4th Wednesday of each month. For times and places contact, Jeffra Wise DeViney at 337-912-5063.
