Ward Six Fire Protection announces the implementation of a new Chaplain Program.
Rev. Carlie Jackson has been appointed to serve as Chaplain of the department.
The Chaplain’s duties will consist of providing victims of emergencies access to support services as well as to give support and guidance to members of the department in their time of need such as serious injuries or line-of-duty deaths, including notification of family members.
Duties will also include conducting and/or assisting with fire department funerals or memorial services, offering support and assistance at emergency incidents, acting as a liaison with local clergy, churches or faith groups and facilitating invocations/prayers at ceremonies and special events.
