Disc golf rumble in Ragley

An up and coming sport has made its way to our area The “Rumble in Ragley” was held this past Saturday in Ragley.

This is the 6th year Ragley has hosted this event. Keith Bodin was the Tournament host and also owns the course. The tournament was run by Connie Stewart of Cloud 9, a disk golf company.

There were a total of 49 players competing in different divisions ranging from the ages of 11 through the ripe young age of 70+. They had players from Louisiana, Texas and Tennessee.

Miles Seaborne from Logansport took 1st place in the Open (Pro) division, Tanner Girouard from Orange, Texas took 2nd place honors and Jordan Smith from DeQuincy took 3rd place in the Open Division.

Some other local players who competed were as follows:

Keith Bodin, 6th, Pro 40+; Bubba Suchanek, 3rd, Advanced; Byron Kirby, 2nd, Intermediate; Mark Arsenault, 4th, Intermediate; Ethan Beebe, 1st, Recreational; Staci Beebe, 5th, Recreational.

This is a growing sport. They have a course at Sam Houston Jones State Park. Anyone can get involved and it’s a great way to sneak up on some exercise.
