Christmas is fast approaching and the Chamber of Commerce and the City of DeQuincy are making preparations for a A Railroad Town Christmas, which is this year’s theme!
Activities are planned for Friday and Saturday, Dec. 6-7 at DeQuincy Railroad Museum Park.
Christmas Shirts
Stop by the DeQuincy News or call 337-912-5063 to preorder Christmas Shirts for the whole family and for your business. Deadline to place orders is Friday, Nov. 15. Shirts will be available Thursday, Dec. 5. This is a Chamber fundraiser.
KCS Holiday Express
The KCS Holiday Express Train will arrive at the DeQuincy Railroad Museum on Friday, Dec. 6. Tours will begin at 4 p.m. Many other activities will be held on the museum grounds while the Holiday Express is open.
Christmas Parade
The Christmas Parade will be held Saturday, Dec. 7, at 10 a.m. Lineup will be at 9 a.m. at Nichols parking lot. The parade will end at the Railroad Museum.
Food and Craft Vendors
Booth spaces for vendors are available for both days. Booth fee is $10. To register your booth wares and secure your space, call 337-313-8020 or 337-540-4126. We ask that no duplications on food or wares be made.
Christmas Program
All are invited to enjoy Christmas entertainment at the Railroad Museum Park Stage after the parade.
Santa and Snow
Are your ready for Snow and Santa? Bundle up and get ready to play in the snow provided courtesy of the City of DeQuincy.
Fireworks
Then the climax of the evening will be Fireworks at the ballpark at 7 p.m. These are provided by a grant from the City of DeQuincy.
Greeting Cards
To add to the beauty at the Railroad Museum, Christmas Cards are placed each year by businesses and individuals. If you have had a card in the past the renewal fee is $25. Statements are being mailed to you. If you desire a card and this is your first time, the fee is $100. The deadline for renewals and new cards is Nov. 20.
The DeQuincy Chamber of Commerce and the City of DeQuincy extend the invitation for you to come out and enjoy the festivities being planned.
