Nola J. Gibson, a resident of Starks was born on Aug. 28, 1941 and passed away at The Carpenter House in Baton Rouge on Sunday, July 28, 2019 at the age of 77.
Nola was a faithful member of Deweyville United Pentecostal Church. She loved going to church and spending time with her church family. She was a loving mother and grandmother and she will be greatly missed by her family.
She is survived by her daughter, Rachel Elaine and husband, Reggie Duplessis of Denham Springs; three grandsons, Zack, Cade and Colby Cash of Denham Springs; sisters, Betty Meaux, Debbie Anderson and husband, Roland and Shelia Hughes and husband Freddy.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 58 years, Jerry Wayne Gibson; parents, Gettie and Blanche Hoffpauir; brother, John Hoffpauir; and sister, Donna McCoy.
The family will receive friends from 9 until time of the funeral service at 11 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 1. The visitation and funeral will be held at Deweyville United Pentecostal Church, 827 County Rd. 4156, Deweyville, Texas with Pastor Michael Orange officiating. Interment will follow at Fountain Cemetery in Starks.
Arrangements are being handled by Riley Smith Funeral Home, 1810 W. Fourth St., DeQuincy.
