Meet new City Hall, Police Department staff

The City of DeQuincy will celebrate National Night Out Tuesday, Aug. 6 from 6-8 p.m. on the grounds of the DeQuincy Railroad Museum.

Admission and parking are free. Booths will be giving free food and drink. All churches, businesses, and clubs are welcome to participate. We have it on good authority that there will be a chance of snow, there will be popcorn, snow cones, and a dunking booth, plus much more.

This is your chance to come meet the new faces in the Police Department and City Hall and fellowship with all the familiar ones. There will be a blessing for the new school year at the end of the night.

The National Night Out enhances the relationship between neighbors and law enforcement, while bringing back a true sense of community. It’s a chance for families to get out and enjoy camaraderie. between the city, police, fire and community organizations and churches. Bring the entire family; everything is free to the public.

The event will be hosted by: DeQuincy Police Department, DeQuincy Fire Department, City of DeQuincy, Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office, and the Calcasieu Parish Police Jury.

Ward Six Fire Protection District will have a fire truck at the event and will provide free items to kids, including zippered school supply packets, plastic stadium cups, stickers, temporary tattoos and plastic fire helmets. The district will also have a few fire prevention items for adults.
