James “JR” Peterson, Jr. was born on Aug. 2, 1936 and passed away on Tuesday, Apr. 30, 2019 at the age of 82.
He is survived by his brothers, Wren Boyd and wife, Faith, Cooky Boyd and wife, Carolyn, Terrance Boyd and wife, Johnella, Vernon Boyd and wife, Annette and his sister, Rose Boyd, along with numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives.
He was preceded in death by his parents, James Peterson, Sr. and Bernice Relish Boyd; sisters, Alma Donaldson and Betty Pearson; brothers, Jack Peterson and Robert Boyd, Jr.
A private family graveside service will be held at Raven Camp Cemetery in Colfax.
Arrangements are being handled by Riley Smith Funeral Home, 1810 W. Fourth St., DeQuincy.
