The Louisiana Railroad Festival parade will be held at 3 p.m. Friday, Apr. 12, according to DeQuincy Federated Service League Parade Chairman Janet Jordy.
Lineup starts at 2 p.m. at Nichols parking lot, 915 E. Fourth St. The parade will continue to the Railroad Museum grounds at Pine St.
Baseball and Softball floats will need to take a left on Pine Street at the end of the parade and proceed to the ball field or back to Nichols. Bicycle riders and Railroad Queens will need to turn right on Pine St.
This year’s Parade Marshal is the DeQuincy Federated Service League’s 2019 Club Woman of the Year – Sherri Breaux.
Everyone is invited to ride in the Louisiana Railroad Days Festival parade. You are encouraged to decorate your float, vehicle or bike with the theme: Louisiana Railroad Days Festival or a train theme. It is a great opportunity to advertise your business or club. Golf carts are welcome. This year, we will have the Dixie Youth Baseball and Softball programs joining the parade.
For the safety of parade spectators, there are to be no items (candy, cups, toys, etc.) thrown from any float or vehicle in the parade. The DeQuincy Federated Service League will not be responsible for any property or body damage due to items being thrown from any float or vehicle.
No animals will be allowed to be in the parade.
