Dixie Youth baseball, softball year begins

Friday and Saturday night, Mar. 29-30, the Union Pacific Sports Complex came to life with the annual start of the annual Dixie Baseball and Softball program. The league has some 250 plus kids playing baseball and softball this year and is under the leadership of Commisioner Derek Davis. The Mayor of DeQuincy, Riley Smith, threw out the ceremonial opening day pitch.

Results are as follows:

T-Ball

Yellow Jackets 9, Muck Dogs 17 – Yellowjackets top scorer was Cooper Hollingsworth with two runs and for the Muck Dogs scorers were Daniel P., Kamdyn and Daal J. with three runs each.

Astros 16, Storm 22 – Astros top scorers were Liam and Kayden with three runs each. Top scorers for the Storm were Merci, Jaxson, Brayden and Wesson.

Cubs 21, Storm 17 – Cubs top scorers were Aliya, Katherine, Callen and DeMarcus with three runs each. Top scorers for the Storm were Jaxson and Brayden with three runs each.

Yellowjackets 17, Muck Dogs 20 – Yellowjackets top scorers were Cooper, Kooper, and Hudson, with three runs each. Top scorers for the Muck Dogs were Cooper, Noah, Paul and Dan.

Coach Pitch

Indians 3, Raptors 0 – Leading the Indians were Bryce Dyson with two hits and leading the Raptors was Dayne Davis with two hits.

Gators 2, Strickland 1.

Minor League

Reds 4, White Sox 2 – Hitting safely for the Reds were Tucker and Bear. Hitting safely for the White Sox were Kannon, Cobe and Jax.

White Sox 16, SB 1 – Top hitters for the White Sox were Kannon, with three hits, and adding two hits a piece were Aaron and Cardon. Getting hits for SB were Nolan and Jamie.

Reds 3, SB#1 7 – Reds top hitter was Kaiden. Top hitters for SB#1 was Stanton, Kopen, Hunter, and Heith.

Majors

Yellowjackets 1, Astros 5 – Yellowjackets collected one hit from Riley, and the Astros collected one hit from Ryder.

Yellowjackets 12, Astros 6 – Yellow jackets top hitters were Rahley and Kylor. Top hitters for the Astros was Ryder with three hits.

Girls Softball

10-U

Battitude 0, DeRidder 4 – Battitude collected three hits coming from the bat of Chloe, Arianna, and Hadley.

Battitude 3, DeRidder 10 – No hits collected for the Battitudes.

15-U

Chargers 7, White Lightning 2 – Top hitters for the chargers were Maddie and Canyon. Top hitters for White Lightning were Heaven, Kamryn, and Camryn, all getting a hit each.
