Charles Moore

Charles Ray Moore, 92, of Singer passed away Friday, Mar. 15, 2019 in the comfort of his daughter’s home. He was a charter member of Hargrove Bible Baptist Church and a United States Army Veteran serving during WWII. He retired from oil field work with Grey Wolf Drilling Company.

He enjoyed hunting and gardening. He was as a devoted son who sacrificed to take care of family first. His devotion to his wife was unwavering during her lengthy illness. He will also be remembered as a loving father, grandfather and great-grandfather.

Left to cherish his memory are his son, William Moore and wife Mary; two daughters, Susan Myers and husband Tim, Shirley Lyons and husband Blake, all of Singer; seven grandchildren, Nick Myers, Ashley Hardee, Steven Moore, Alexis Lyons, Amanda Lyons, Amber Smith, Aarron Parker; 13 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; along with numerous nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his wife of 68 years, A. “Josephine” Moore; granddaughter, Amy Lyons; and great-granddaughter, Audriey Moore; parents, Lee Moore and Denise LeBleu Moore Suchanek; siblings, Joseph “Buddy” Moore, Archie B. Moore, and Hazel Chambers Taylor.

A private memorial service at Hyatt Cemetery will be held at a later date.

Services have been entrusted to Hixson-Snider Funeral Home, 205 E. Harrison St., DeQuincy.
