IMPORTANT INFORMATION ABOUT YOUR
DRINKING WATER
Monitoring Requirement not met by CALCASIEU WW #14 WARD 5.
We are required to monitor your drinking water for specific contaminants on a regular basis. Results of regular monitoring are an indicator of whether or not your drinking water meets health standards.
During the reporting period of 11/01/2018 through 11/30/2018 the CALCASIEU WW #14 WARD 5 “did not monitor or test” or “did not complete all monitoring or testing” for coliform bacteria as set forth in the State and Federal Primary Drinking Water Regulations [Louisiana State Sanitary Code (LAC 51:XII) and Code of Federal Regulations (40 141)]. Therefore, CALCASIEU WW #14 WARD 5 cannot be sure of the quality of your drinking water during that time.
This situation was due to:
Failure to collect required bacteriological samples for monitoring period 11/01/2018 through 11/30/2018 for the CALCASIEU WW #14 WARD 5
What does this mean?
This is not an emergency. There is nothing you need to do at this time. As our customer, you have the right to know what happened and what is being done to correct the situation.
The following action(s) have been taken to correct this issue:
The samples were taken in a timely manner but were not tested by a State agency in a timely manner. We have spoken with the testing agency and learned that we can track their progress to be sure all our samples are tested appropriately going forward, or we can be sure replacement samples are taken and turned in within that monitoring period for testing.
