Major General Erbon Wise (Retired), 99 passed away on Wednesday, Aug. 12, 2020, at his home in Sulphur. He was born on Aug. 14, 1920, in a log house in Claiborne Parish, to Edmond Wesley Wise and Eula Estelle Bridwell, and grew up in Leesville.
Wise earned a bachelor’s degree in 1941 from what is now Northwestern State University in Natchitoches. That is where he met and married Natchitoches native, Marie Norris in July 1942. They were happily married for 74 years until her passing in 2016.
