Teacher of the Year

Casey Christ is the 2026 DeQuincy Elementary Teacher of the Year. With 13 years of teaching experience, including 11 years in Calcasieu Parish, Christ treasures the family atmosphere of DeQuincy Elementary school and the opportunity to watch her students grow academically and personally.

Being part of a small community where she can see her former students grow up and make their own mark in the community is something she values. Christ is supported by her family, colleagues, and mentors, and she strives to help every student recognize their potential, learn from mistakes, and believe they can do hard things.
