DeQuincy Middle School is proud to recognize Lillian Thorn as its 2026–2027 Student of the Year.
Lillian is the daughter of Jimmie and Julie Thorn, and the sister of Madisyn and John. She credits her family with helping shape her character, teaching her the importance of resilience, hard work, kindness, and perseverance.
Lillian is an active student who enjoys basketball, volleyball, cheerleading, and track. In addition to athletics, singing is one of her greatest passions. She has been honored with opportunities to perform in All-State and National Honor Choirs, at LSU sporting events, and at the inauguration of a Louisiana Supreme Court justice.
Academically, Lillian understands the importance of balancing schoolwork with extracurricular activities. She prioritizes her grades while remaining involved in multiple activities, demonstrating discipline, responsibility, and effective time management. Her leadership experience includes serving as cheer captain, worship leader, and Fellowship of Christian Athletes (FCA) leader.
She plans to attend Louisiana State University and pursue a career in pediatrics, with the goal of earning a doctorate. She hopes to help children feel safe, comfortable, and cared for during some of their most difficult moments.
