The DeQuincy Tigers opened their 2026 regular season at home last Thursday against the Grand Lake Hornets. Things quickly did not go according to plan. The Tigers’ offense struggled on the first two positions, turning the ball over twice and then a third time in the second quarter. Although DeQuincy rallied back and took a one point lead going into halftime, the turnovers would eventually come back to bite them in the fourth quarter when Grand Lake begin to trade scores.

Despite a valiant comeback, the Tigers fell short.

DeQuincy’s defense played exceptionally well despite the score stopping Grand Lake on multiple drives.
