The DeQuincy Study Club, GFWC was named Outstanding Club in the State by the General Federation of Women’s Clubs of Louisiana. President Jolene Gibbs traveled to Baton Rouge to attend the GFWC of Louisiana Annual Convention.
The club received the following awards: 1st Place Civic Engagement & Outreach Program; 3rd Place Arts & Culture Program; 3rd Place Domestic & Sexual Violence Awareness & Prevention Program; 2nd Place Health & Wellness Program; 2nd Place Legislation & Public Policy Program; 1st Place Advocates for Children Program; 3rd Place Fundraising Program; 1st Place Communications and Public Relations Program.
In additions to these awards, the club received the Lee Craig Levy Award of Merit and the Cherish Award, which included a brass tray.
The DeQuincy Study Club was organized in 1938 and federated with the General Federation of Women’s Clubs International in 1939. We invite women in our community to consider joining our club which meets once per month September through May.
