Rose Potts was born to Charles David Potts and Pearl Jackson Potts in Kinder, on Sept. 9, 1940, and passed away Wednesday, Mar. 25, 2026. She was the last of three children and had two older brothers, Charles Potts and Martin Potts.
Rose was a long-time resident of Rusk, Texas and worked for the Rusk State Hospital where she retired with 21 years of service. Rose was always the life of the party with her contagious laugh and antics she was always up to. She loved to travel and take road trips with family. She has taken her final trip to meet her Savior and is now in the arms of Jesus with her family there. She will be deeply missed by all.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her brother, Martin Potts; nephew, Ronald Oliver; and sister-in-law, Ethelen Potts.
Those left to mourn the loss are her brother, Charles Potts; nephews, David Potts, Dale Potts and wife Melanie; two daughters, Lacy and Hailey; her sister-in-law, Peggy Potts; niece and caretaker, Becky Potts-Wilson and husband Chris, as well as their children, Connie Odinot, Bubba McPike and Kasey Schoener; niece, Connie Garland and husband William; niece, Cynthia Wilson and husband Tim as well as their children, Allison Wilson, Kimberly Hoover and husband Brook. Rose had no children of her own but was a devoted aunt to all her nieces and nephews whom she loved greatly.
Honorary Pallbearers are David Wayne Potts, Dale Randall Potts, and Chris Wilson.
The family received friends from 10 – 11 a.m., Saturday, Mar. 28, at Riley Smith & Sons Funeral Home in DeQuincy. Interment followed at Magnolia Cemetery in Ragley.
Arrangements were handled by Riley Smith & Sons Funeral Home, 1810 W. Fourth St., DeQuincy.
