Katie Irene Mullins was born Nov. 14, 1944, and passed away Sunday, Mar. 22, 2026, at the age of 81.
She is survived by her children, Sheila, Tim, and Doug; grandchildren, Jeff, Mandy, Jason, Christian, Kendall, and Ryan; great-grandchildren, Ethan, Evan, Brycelynn, Kandice, Beau, Hunter, Jacob, Remi, Brooklyn, Aubree, Laniee, and Kenedy; siblings, James Hood and Dianne Bullard; along with numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Otis Mullins; daughter, Kathleen; grandsons, Jonathan Babineaux, Caleb Cole Mullins, and Shanon Paul Babineaux; great grandson, Jonathin Babineaux; parents, Frank and Beulah Hood; and her furbaby, Sassy.
The family received friends from 5 – 8 p.m., Wednesday, Mar. 25, with the funeral service being held at 11 a.m., Thursday, Mar. 26, at Riley Smith & Sons Funeral Home in DeQuincy. Mr. Robert Marcantel officiated. Interment followed at Rigmaiden Cemetery in DeQuincy.
Arrangements were handled by Riley Smith & Sons Funeral Home, 1810 W. Fourth St., DeQuincy.
